I am just finishing up a retreat in the Spanish Pyrenees where I learned some powerful techniques that have the ability to improve people lives dramatically. I did a video with the retreat leader, Wim Hof, who is world famous for his super human abilities. Most people don’t believe when I tell them some of the feats this guy has done but you don’t have to believe me because he has had all of them recorded and can be found simply by google-ing him.
In this video with Wim Hof, high on top of a mountain in the Spanish Pyrenees, I demonstrate a simple Wim Hof breathing technique that can:
Boost the immune system
Activate the natural healing mechanisms
Instantly reduce anxiety
Open up the detox pathways
Activate all the happy neurochemicals in the brain
Help eliminate back pain
Make you super human
The list of benefits go on and on and on, and I am living proof. After only a couple days with Wim I was able to spend 15 minutes in 30 degree water 2 days in a row after performing these techniques. Cold water training is another technique he uses to improve health.
This is all backed by science. If you saw my video on the hyperbaric oxygen chamber, these breathing techniques are like having your own hyperbaric oxygen chamber except it is FREE and anyone can do it at anytime!
Done consistently these techniques can have profound effects in all areas of your life.
Technique 1 (retention breathing)
In one breath, breath into your belly, then your chest then your head like a wave then exhale by just relaxing the body and breath in again in the same pattern
Repeat the breathing about 40 times or until lightheaded (based on feeling)
Take 2 deep inhales and on the last full exhale hold your breath at the end of the exhalation until you feel the need to breath
Then take a deep breath in and hold for 15-30 second putting pressure to you neck area.
Then repeat as needed

“Hey! What’s going on? It’s Ian Hart here at EarthFIT and today I’m going to just go give you a little tour of the sauna and then give a pointers on keeping it clean, how you want to handle the sauna, how you want to use it, how it’s powerful for detox and then I’m actually going to jump in the sauna for about an hour today myself, and I’ve been building up to an hour. The first day I did about half hour, 35 minutes, I did 45 minutes the next one, and then I’ve build up to it. And then I’m going to be doing a specific detox after that.
So here is the sauna, it’s a 4 person sauna as you can see it has a stereo system. Right now it’s on clear glass, we’re going to be getting some dividers here so people won’t be looking out at the gym because right now this is open to the gym.
And so there’s a few things for the sauna. You want to be extremely hydrated, you do want to progress to longer term. The power is in the sweating so when you’re sweating we know that the toxins are coming out from the sweat. This is proven through research that the sweat you do in your training is helpful but in the sauna the toxins increases by a large percentage like 80-90% more.
This is most powerful after a training so if you do a training you want to go into a sauna, you continue to sweat you’ll get more toxins out. In the training it uses your cardiovascular system so it gets the toxins circulating and now there’s two ways that the toxins get out your body – through your intestinal tract, and through the sweat. And so we do the sweating and then I always recommend if you’re not doing the actual detox which includes supplements that you take bentonite clay, bentonite clay binds with the toxins in your gut and carries them out. You can also use activated charcoal but activated charcoals are a little bit harsh on the body, it does absorbs a lot of toxins and the minerals in your body as well which is not that beneficial but it can be beneficial if you have like serious toxins in the body. They use it at the emergency room if you overdose on you know drugs, alcohol etc. to absorb the toxins.
So once you go into the sauna you want to make sure you’re not overheating so you should be extremely hydrated and you should hydrate while you are in there. You’re going to start pouring sweat, you want to grab a few towels and be continuously wiping the sweat down. Sometimes it gets annoying because you’re like you’re really sweating in here non stop like you wipe on place and then where you wiped 2 seconds later you’re sweating again. But, because there’s toxins and the sweat you don’t want to get it re-absorbed so you want to wipe it and get it absorbed in the towel about 15-20 minutes in the towel I’m using and I don’t really sweat that much like compared to some other people, it’s pretty much soaking wet so you want to have 3 or 4 towels ready if you’re going to go in for an hour. If you hit a point where you feel extremely fatigue and tired from it, you can just step out or open up the door if it’s just you by yourself. You can just step out for 2 seconds if you’re in there with other people who want to keep it hot there’s a timer. We want to set the timer… and actually I’m going to set the timer it’s about to go out as I step in here so I’m going to go up 60 minutes. And then if the door is open like it is right now it’s going to go down in temperature quite a bit, it’s a 117 degrees in there. As soon as I close the door it’s going to start to go up in temperature. It’s set at its highest possible degree right now which is 158 degrees. I’ve noticed that at set with 158, it goes up to about 145-146 it never really gets up to 158. I haven’t seen that yet.
And when you’re done, you ‘re gonna be sweating and dripping sweat all over there inside and so it’s very important that we keep it clean. Again, these are toxins coming out of you. So we have a bucket here to wash down and we’re going to be getting… we have a mop that’s going to be attached, not a mop but a scrub brush. We would sweat it down in the bucket and take it inside and scrub down completely the area that you have been sitting in that’s wet with the sweat. And then we scrub it down and then we wipe it down again with a dry towel just to take up all the toxins and then we will be cleaning it once a week – a full cleaning.
The other thing that is very important to know is that after your session in the sauna, you want to take a cold shower for few reasons; This will cool your core temperature, it will wash off the toxins and sweat in the body. You don’t want to keep that on you for a long time and it helps your immune system, and actually stimulates your immune system so it helps your lymphatic system drain out some of the toxins again and then if you’re drinking a big glass of bentonite clay… let me show you what I have right now. These are my water supply for the session. I’ve already drank about 8 cups of water so I have another 4 cups of water here and another 2 and a half here. This is bentonite clay, I’m going to drink this after my session or maybe a little bit during it to absorb more of the toxins.
So for people who are going to be going in the sauna at EarthFIT, you must watch the video. We’re giving 4 free sessions away to everybody at EarthFIT who is currently a client with us and 4 half hour sessions to use so you can try it out, see if you like it, see if you feel the benefits and this video you must watch it first so you understand everything. Now, the next step after this is we’re going to be having a powerful detox. It’s one of the best detox you can do bar none; this is research for over 60 years. There’s not many places in the US where you can actually do it because it’s very entailed process but I will be taking people through this to help cleanse the toxins that have been accumulated over their whole entire life. And so when this occurs, there’s massive changes on the energetic level, mental level. I’m taking them to the next step and actually help people heal, and recover from you know things that they didn’t even really realize were there. You’ll see radiation come out of your body. For example, when you take some of the supplements and go into the sauna you’ll see sunburns come out of the body, you’ll see places where you’ve been injected with anaesthesia or… where they put anaesthesia in your body and even things like if you’re in a korean pool for large part of your life which I was as a kid, chlorine come out, numerous other things that I can tell you about. They’ve used this on people who are 911 victims who inhaled all the chemicals, people who have gulf war syndrome and other people who are exposed to harmful toxins to help them release those toxins. Alright, and they’ve seen these symptoms disappear as soon as the toxins release and you can actually see it on the towel. So this is the benefits of the sauna, as well as how to go about using the sauna for the best benefit and the best health effects. Have a good day!”
Make the unconscious conscious with sentence stemming.
“Hey! What’s going on? It’s Ian Hart here with MyBackPainCoach.com, EarthFITtraining.com and BackPainRelief4Life.com. And today I wanted to go over with some things that would help you shine a light on areas in your life that you can change. So most people are aware of what is consciously going on in your life, they’re understanding, like what’s in the reality consciously, but they’re not fully aware of what’s going on subconsciously. Maybe the talks that they have with themselves, inner talk, the chatter that’s going on, the emotions that they might push down that tend to manifest out in reality whether in pain in their body or emotional issues or relationship issues, etc.. And so today I wanted to give you a simple way to maybe shine some light, and it’s kind of a first step in a process that would help you kind of coach yourself to, maybe, a better life.
Alright, so this would help shine a light on some of those things that you might be doing that are causing the reality that you don’t want and that’s the first step into changing that reality.
So Sentence Stemming. This is a great way, it seems like you know, the first time I write it, it’s like, could this really be that powerful? Then I did it myself, and it helps you think through and process some information to help you get where you want to be. So I just put examples right here… “I would be healthier if…” and then you fill in the blank. So, whatever you think would make you healthy right? Well if I stop eating fast food, if I did more exercise, if I got a health coach or started doing a personal training, whatever it might be. “I would be happier if…” who knows, I’m just making example, if my commute was closer to my job or whatever, if I exercise more often. “I would be in better shape if…” etc., etc. “My back would feel better if…” because we’re dealing with a lot of people with back pain and a lot of them are doing things daily that are causing back pain like sitting all day. We all know that it’s terrible for the back. Alright, so maybe my life, with my back pain, would be gone if I stood up or I had a standing desk or whatever it might be. So this will make you more conscious of the things you’re doing unconsciously that are causing the problems that you want to solve. So sentence stemming will help tremendously. I hope this helps you. This is Ian Hart again with EarthFITtraining, MyBackPainCoach.com and BackPainRelief4Life.com.”
“Hey! What’s up? It’s Ian Hart. And so I wanted to cover a topic real quick, something that I think is very important and as a coach listening to the client’s words and how they speak is extremely important because typically I can see within a few words where their mindset is at and then how it affects their life and the reason for why they are where they are in their life and in their evolution and path. And so, thoughts and words literally create your reality and so here’s an example.
Subconsciously you get programs by lights, sounds, and images and so sounds are words that carried with a vibration and every word sends a vibration through your body then it creates an action right? so for example most people are a program to say “I need to lose weight” so when you say I need to lose weight, what happens when you lose something… well naturally, unconsciously you want to find it right? you don’t lose things on purpose so unconsciously you’re saying I need to lose weight but deep down inside whatever is lost needs to be found so something like “I’m getting slimmer, leaner or telling yourself everyday I’m getting more healthy and fit” is a different program than “I’m trying to lose weight or I’m losing weight.” Is that makes sense? so if you tell yourself daily “I’m getting in better shape, I’m getting healthier” that’s a program and you slow words that changes how the brain look at things and thinks. So try that instead of saying “I need to lose weight or I need to lose anything” or speaking in that terms. Try to say day by day I’m getting X, Y, and Z. “I’m getting better at eating habits, I’m getting better at being healthy, I’m getting whatever it might be.” So that’s just a little tidbit.
Watch your words because they create your reality typically your thoughts, your emotions create your words and your words also carry with it a equivalent vibrations to those thoughts. So, watching your thoughts and your words will change the reality that you see and so there you go that’s just one tip that will help hopefully. I hope it helps you in being more conscious about your thoughts, your words and your actions.”
“Good Morning! It’s Ian Hart. This is part 2 of the Data Vs. Drama and right now I’m in up right outside of Vegas doing some master mind work and you know last week and the week before I’ve spoke to a lot of people about getting on the scale and how they have problems with the scale because they didn’t want to check in their weight, it made them feel bad, and I sent a video about Drama Vs. Data and so data is just a checkpoint to see where you’re at so you know where you’re going. Drama is not helpful for anybody. All right and so the feeling of shame or guilt is what many people feel when they step on the scale and it’s coming from a place of judgment because they think what’s on the scale is wrong according to them but there’s no such thing as wrong or right, right? so if you can’t accept yourself when you’re fat or a little bit above what you feel is right or wrong whatever it might be then you are not going to accept yourself when you are not completely thin, right? or completely where you want to be.
So self acceptance is the first thing so if you have trouble with the scale then you have trouble with self acceptance and taking away the judgment of yourself is the first step. So if you get on the scale and step on removing any wrong doing there’s no wrong or right. There’s no right number there’s no wrong number and that is removing the drama and just looking at it objectively like I’m 10lbs above where I would like to be all right and is realistic to get 10lbs down from where you are at to is another question you might wanna ask. And based on your activities and what you’re doing in your life. Are you really committed to that 10lbs down cause if you’re not then you know you’ll always going to feel wrong whenever you step on the scale.
So I wanted to make this video just to have anybody who has an issue with getting on the scale to think about it that nothing is right or wrong and as soon as we go from a place of judgment we go into drama and we’re no longer looking at it as data and the data is helpful to where we wanna go. The drama is taking us further from where we wanna go and it is creating shame and guilt which is low vibrational energy and is actually destructive to our health and well being and destructive to the people around us right? so self acceptance is coming from a high vibrational point of view where there is love, and acceptance is where transformation begins so if you saw any of my videos on the map of the scale of consciousness then you know that acceptance is where the actual transformation in the mind and the consciousness level begins and that’s where life actually takes off so if you’re not in the level of self acceptance then now it would be a progress or progress to work towards that level.
Alright, so I hope this helps and this is part 2 of Drama Vs. Data and now I’m about to go hit my workout at the hotel gym. All right, have a great day!”
“There’s one main reason that people do not get the goals or hit the goals that they’re looking for, and that #1 reason is commitment. So if someone sets a goal, they set that intention in motion. But mostly they don’t reach it because of commitment level all right? There’s a quote and it says “It’s hard to beat someone who never gives up.” someone who never gave up is somebody who’s committed to reaching to where they want to be. Most people give up.So I want you to think about this… Think about where failure isn’t even an option all right? For example, when they build a bridge let’s say the Golden Gate Bridge, they didn’t say “Oh! I’m gonna try and build a bridge and you know maybe we’ll hire somebody that is okay, a decent engineer.” No! they said “We’re gonna build a bridge we better make sure that it doesn’t fall apart so we’re gonna hire the best engineer, we’re gonna hire the best architects, we’re gonna hire the best construction company, we’re gonna hire all the right people and we’re gonna invest a lot of time, money and energy to make sure that it’s failproof”, the same with airplanes. For the most part it’s pretty darn failproof. All right? So every once in awhile, there’s a mishap but very infrequently it happens so they pretty much make them failproof like there is no “Uhmm…I’m gonna try and make sure this plane makes it to LA.” No! They have a system to make sure that everything is in align and in order that they can get you from New York to LA.
And so it’s the same with your goals. All right? Set your intention, decide what it is that you want and sometimes the people that aren’t align with their purpose so they get lost, they don’t really know what they want and that’s the main problem is that they’re lost and don’t know what they want. So investing in yourself only helps further that process and then when you know who you truly are you’ll know what you want and then you can stick with it and reach the goal that you desire. It’s worked for me and I’m sure it can work for you.”
Just finished up xbody training and my whole body is already sore. The electrodes stimulate the muscles to the designated degree created by the trainer. It was only 20 minutes long but enough to make you feel it. It was cool to try out but I it’s not my cup of tea, I like heavy weights and explosive movements :). I definitely recommend trying it out though.
“Hey! What’s up? It’s Ian Hart here. (“I can take a picture of you”, Yeah sure! I want you to film me…) So I’m here in Paris right now and I’m about to do this training called Xbody Training and right now he’s filling up a pads here with water so that conducts the electricity and then that stimulates the muscles right? (“Yes”). And so I’m about to start the training, I’ll let you know how it goes, I’ve been testing out different training while I’ve been out here and first time I did crossfit yesterday but anyways, I’ll let you know how it goes I might give you a video of me doing the actual training and I got my trainer right here say hi! (“Hi!”). Alright! Talk to you later.”
“Alright so right now I’m in Xbody, you can see I have a suit on and what they do is electrically stimulate all the muscles throughout the body. Pretty awesome, pretty intense. And so if I get a chance, I’m gonna have… film me the actual workout.”
“I got a ton of great feedback on the last video I did so I thought I would expand on it more. It was early morning and was just gathering my thoughts so bare with me :)”
Beaufort health and fitness: Core Values
“Hey! Good morning! It’s Ian Hart and thought of doing a video to expand on what I was speaking about in the last video I sent about a few days ago. I got a ton of great feedback and so I thought I would give a little bit more in regards to that topic so that it could help people move towards their goals faster and with more clarity.
So, I spoke about core values and how important it is to move forward towards their goals and when you have core values and you dig deep into what your core values are, what your passions are, then it gives you more direction and clarity. Alright so, as with the map if you want to go somewhere first, you need to know where you’re at and then only then can you move forward. And so it’s the same thing the core values as you define your core values you essentially have more meaning in your life and when you have more meaning you have more value.
Alright so, it’s a symbiotic relationship: you have meaning which creates value. And then, creates more meaning and then creates more value. And so, life continues on like that as we add meaning to it, we add more value to it. For example, a relationship has value only when it has meaning right? Someone has passed away you don’t know, someone across the world passes away and you find out about it or you might hear about it you might say “Oh it’s terrible!” but it’s not traumatic because that relationship doesn’t have value but when someone close to you passes away it’s traumatic because that relationship has meaning and value. And so if you have a good relationship with yourself then you have meaning and value in that relationship. The more you’re going to take care of your health, the more you’re going to expect all the things that enter your mind, your body, your spirit, your soul and then ultimately, you’re going to add more value to your life and to your relationship and everything around you will seem better, have more direction, purpose, clarity. And so, the more value you give your life the better everything else is, the more you will take care of yourself, the more love you will show yourself and others.
So, you know people come into us for training and they’ll say things like “Oh you know it’s expensive or you know I’m just not ready to do it…” but they’re in the position where they’re in dire need of health and so those people just don’t value their health and they don’t see the value in their health and if they had a solid foundation of core principles, core beliefs, core passions, they knew who they are, what they are about then they might see more value in a training program or taking the first step forward in a training program. So, I hope that helps expanding on the core values concept. This is something that we are going to implement into the EarthFIT program for those that are interested… and yeah, I’ll be back implementing these core values into our program for those that are interested in it and so this will help everybody move forward towards their goals and then actually will help every aspect of their life. And so I’m excited to bring that to EarthFIT.
Alright, Ian Hart here signing out from Nai Yang Beach in Thailand. Alright have a great day and I’m checking out!”
Would you rather “change” or “transform” when you start a fitness program? Defining your core values can be the first step in the transformation process in fitness or anything in life and is essential to creating a success map. Do you have a define set of core values? If so, let me know below 🙂
Beaufort Fitness: Change or Transform?
“Hey! What’s going on? I’m on my third day here in Thailand at Nai Yang beach right now we have a reprieve from the work we’re doing and everything is going great and I thought of create a video talking about some of stuff that we’re doing here and how it translates to what we do in fitness and with our business specifically EarthFIT and when people come in our door, so if you’re a client listen to this. You come in our door you are looking for a change, you want to see something change in your body, maybe in your mind, spirit, whatever it is you are looking for a change… And what I want to see happen is a transformation and that’s my goal for you when you come in the door. And, transformation would be a change to a permanent degree and it happens on a brain level. If you change your behavior for a short period of time and you go back to it, that is not a transformation. So ultimately the goal is that your brain changes and this happens on a neuroscience level on a Basal Ganglia a part of a brain where when that changes subconscious and that subconscious change has been a transformation to a permanent degree.
And so, with so much uncertainty in the world today, there’s so much you have control over right? You don’t have control over you know someone driving on the opposite side of the street, you don’t have control over other people, you don’t have control over the weather but what you do have control over is yourself, your beliefs, your belief systems, and invariably what I find is that most people don’t have a solid foundation in their belief system and so they have uncertainty on themselves and then they go out into the world that is uncertain and then you have a massive uncertainty to the nth power and so that creates a stressful and threatening environment. But, if you get clear on who you are, what your beliefs are or what your values are, who you are as a person and being true to yourself right to thy own self, be true as Shakespeare said or Socrates know that self. The more you know yourself, the more you can change and transform because if you don’t know yourself, who you are, where you are coming from, where you are going, you don’t have a map. And if you have goals set in place then, it really doesn’t matter what those goals are if you don’t know what is making you think and why you need to go and get to them then it’s going to be harder to achieve those goals and then it’s going to be harder to transform.
So, finding out your three core values would be the first step in finding out who you are, what resonates with you. For example, my core values are: faith, so faith that I have confidence. Trust and a belief that universe is conspiring to work with me and for me for the ultimate greater good. And then, gratitude is that I have appreciation. I wake up and I am thankful to be alive, I appreciate what I have. And then lastly courage, that I have the courage to speak from my heart, to do the thing that I might be fearful of doing but still stepping up and actually doing it. I might be scared, you know I was scared to actually leave and come on this retreat but I knew it was I had to do to grow and to take me to the next level. It’s uneasy to leave my business, to leave my family, to leave things that are comfortable. It takes me out of the comfort zone and I live those values, I’ve perpetually lived in discomfort. I mean, as most business owners know starting your own thing, creating your own thing is extremely discomforting especially in the beginning but so I live in courage to take me through that discomfort. And even though I’m scared and fearful that I’ll still take the action that I know and in my heart needs to be done. And so when I wake up everyday with those three things then I have more certainty in my life and therefore, it can transform the rest of my day and the rest of my world. And so I encourage you to figure out what 3 values you hold dear and closest to you that can help guide you and stir you throughout the day.
Alright, so this is Ian Hart signing out from Nai Yang beach in Thailand. I hope you enjoyed the message, let me know what you think.”
Clients often ask us what they can do when they are not able to make it in to EarthFIT because of travel schedules. You don’t need a gym or weights to get a good workout in. You also do need tons of time. All you need is your body a little motivation to get started (especially if your jet lag smile emoticon. My first training this morning I did 3 sets of 5 reps sprinting and 3 sets of 30 push ups. It was a 10 minute training session and enough to burn some calories, get my blood flowing and my mind right.
Beaufort Personal Trainer: Workout Anywhere At Anytime…
“Hey! What’s up? It’s the first morning here in Thailand I mean Nai Yang Beach and the beach is completely empty. It’s 6AM. I woke up at 4AM this morning, did some homework and now I’m chilling on the beach and about to do my workout. I got a perfect place for sprinting.
So as the sun rises, I’m going to do some sprint training. This is hard sand. So, I’ve only been in Thailand for about 12 hours now and it’s an absolutely beautiful country and I’ve only seen one of thousands of it and yeah I like it so far. So here’s my sprint training I am about to do and then pretty much all body weight training here because they don’t really have much gym so I can get a workout anywhere at anytime with sprinting, push ups, pull ups, squat jumps, walking lunges and I might check out some of the muay thai gyms they have here which their world’s famous for obviously since it’s Thailand.
Alright so here’s day 1 at the Thailand and about to get my workout before my intensive retreat starts with Dax Moy and just want to drop you guys the line and say what’s up? that you know I’m working out hard here and going to bring back some nuggets that we can share with the rest of the team.”
